History

Rotaract is created in the United States in March 1968 by Rotary International, as a project of community service designed to give young people an environment where personal development to meet the needs of their communities. Being the First Club of the Unversity of North Carolina, founded exactly 13 March 1968. The next day he founded the Rotaract Club of the University of La Salle in Tacubaya, Mexico, which would be the second World Rotaract Club and the first in Latin America. Rotaract Clubs of Florence, Italy, University of Glaston and Sylva, both in Carolina, and Secunderabad in India, were certified weeks later. While recognizing this as the first club of Rotaract Club, Rotarians have sponsored similar organizations for young people since the early 20's, as was the Active 20-30 Club, which was founded by the Rotary Club of Sacramento, California, U.S. At present, clubs are more than 8.002 in over 167 countries, with an estimated membership base 184.046 young people in the world, accompanied by some 180,000 Interactors (14 to 18 years old) and 1,200,000 Rotarians. Rotary is the oldest service organization and largest in the world, in every corner of the planet. Rotary International has just celebrated 105 years since its founding.
